DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Ribbon Cutting of the city of Laurel's newest park\, Daphne Skate Park!*\n\n\n\nRising from its original location destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina\, Daphne Skate Park officially re-opens this month. The new permanent\, 5000-square-foot concrete park with two distinct bowls and five steel/concrete obstacles creates a safe area for families and all levels of skaters to channel their love of the sport while bringing together diverse ages and races.\n\n\n\nBuilt with a generous grant from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife\, Fisheries and Parks and a match-grant from The Skate Park Project\, formerly known as the Tony Hawk Foundation\, the skate park will promote outdoor recreation\, eco-tourism\, and improved health of our citizens while building on our strongest natural asset\, our neighborhood parks.
