More About the Speaker – Terence Norwood:
Terence presents regularly throughout Mississippi for organizations on leadership, change management, generational characteristics, communication, and is a certified Real Colors Personality facilitator. He coordinates the Mississippi Tax Collector Education & Certification Program and develops designs and delivers educational programs for county Tax Assessors and Collectors. He has been invited to present at state, regional and international conferences. Known for his engaging and down to earth presentations, Terence has reached county and municipal officials, state agencies and organizations in every corner of Mississippi and many others across the county. Norwood has presented for the International Association of Association of Assessing Officers Annual Conference, AL & MS Rural Tourism Conference the National Association of Educational Procurement-TAGM, Mississippi Association of Personnel Administrators and many other state governmental associations.
Awards for Terence include: 2018 Mississippi State University Extension Geoff Guyton Innovation in Extension Technology Award & 2016 Customer Outreach Award; 2012 Outstanding Oral Presentation Award, Graduate Research Symposium, Mississippi State University; 2012 Most Innovative Research Award, John C. Stennis Institute of Government. He received his Bachelor’s in Secondary Education-Speech Communications and Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Instructional Systems and Workforce Development, also from MSU. He resided in Magee, MS with his wife and son.
More About the Speaker – Rachael Carter:
Prior to her work with MSU Extension, Carter served as the Director of Tourism and Natural Resource Policy for the Stennis Institute of Government, where she managed multiple outreach and research project to address policy issues in the state. Carter has experience working with projects pertaining to unconventional oil and gas resources and has served as a guest lecturer for the National Society of Petroleum Engineers, the National Landman Association, the Environmentally Friendly Drilling Alliance Advisory Board, the Mississippi Forestry Association, Mississippi Water Operators Association, and the Mississippi Women for Agriculture Association, among others on this topic. Rachael has also served as the Vice President of civil design build firm, Bigbee Valley Civil. She has also managed her family owned and operated equine business since 2005, with clients including multiple national and world title holders in the equine industry.
