Certified Nurse Aide Training Program
The Certified Nurse Aide Training Program class offered at South Central Regional Medical Center is a classroom and clinical program focused on the direct care of residents at nursing homes. During the class, students will learn to assist patients with basic needs, including eating, bathing, grooming, mobility, and more. There are no additional costs and each student is paid during the course.
Details:
Classroom setting: Weeks 1 through 3 with Pay
Program is held at South Central Regional Medical Center
Class hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Clinical setting: Weeks 4 through CNA Certification
Following completion of classroom program (weeks 1-3), trainees will have an increased pay rate.
On-the-job training at Long-Term Care Facilities
Students eligible for full-time hours with benefits
Clinical hours are 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a
Following completion of clinicals, students are eligible for State Certification Test. This test is offered at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Program Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Students must complete the SCRMC Human Resources onboarding process which includes a drug screen, background check, and reference check. Must be up-to-date on immunizations. Must be able to work full-time, 12 hour shifts.
There is no contract requirement after completion of program and test.
