The Laurel Derby on behalf of The Salvation Army

Every dollar raised at The Laurel Derby will go directly toward sustaining both The Salvation Army’s annual community events and the essential, everyday work that often goes unseen but remains critically important.
At the heart of the event are the thrilling Derby games, where competitors will battle it out for bragging rights and an ultimate $500 cash prize. The competition isn’t just about speed — it’s also about style. Guests are encouraged to embrace classic Derby fashion for a chance to win Best Dressed (male and female) as well as Best Hat, and walk away with some amazing prizes.
Live music by the band Rockola will keep everyone on the dance floor with high-energy, crowd-favorite hits from the ’70s and ’80s.
No Derby celebration would be complete without tuning into the action at the Kentucky Derby. Guests will gather for a live viewing party of the opening race at 4p.m., bringing the thrill of Churchill Downs right to Laurel.
Attendees will also enjoy a delicious spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres inspired by the Kentucky Derby menu. A selection of drinks, including classic Kentucky Derby cocktails, will be available while guests enjoy the games, music, and live race viewing.
