Daphne Skate Park Ribbon Cutting

Join us for the Ribbon Cutting of the city of Laurel's newest park, Daphne Skate Park!*
Rising from its original location destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina, Daphne Skate Park officially re-opens this month. The new permanent, 5000-square-foot concrete park with two distinct bowls and five steel/concrete obstacles creates a safe area for families and all levels of skaters to channel their love of the sport while bringing together diverse ages and races.
Built with a generous grant from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and a match-grant from The Skate Park Project, formerly known as the Tony Hawk Foundation, the skate park will promote outdoor recreation, eco-tourism, and improved health of our citizens while building on our strongest natural asset, our neighborhood parks.
